We want to focus on two things this new term:
Firstly we look to building one another up as part of the family or community of God and one of the best ways of gathering in this context is around the table. So we will meet every fortnight altogether as Pastorate from 7pm for a cooked dinner together before we meet for worship, teaching and opportunities for prayer ministry.
Secondly, as a leadership team and working with David Mitchell, we believe God is calling us to ‘rediscovering our spiritual identity in Him’ and so this will be the focus of our pastorate times together as well as our fortnightly Home Group meetings. This term we are going to take an in-depth look at the Psalms, described by Eugene Peterson (author of the Message) as the book that enables us to present ourselves before God as honestly and thoroughly as we are able and it provides us with a language for prayer that is deeper and more diverse than we might at first imagine.
Here are our planned Home Group and Pastorate dates for the term:
Pastorate: 4/9; 18/9; 2/10; 30/10; 13/11; 27/11; 11/12
Home Group: 11/9; 25/9; 9/10; 23/10; 6/11; 20/11; 4/12
Church Vision Evening: 16/10
